Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 8

Daniel Shirey - USA Today Sports
Big week of injuries last week, which means there are a lot of frustrated owners out there, but a ton of waiver wire options to consider.

Check the waiver wire, but probably shouldn't be there...

Harry Douglas (WR, ATL) - he was most likely picked up last week, but if you are still on the hunt for a WR to fill-in a spot for WR injuries then Douglas is one of the top options.

Chris Ivory (RB, NYJ) - finally fully healthy and was given the load due to his "hot hand."  He is worth checking the wire for, but do know he can be boom or bust on a weekly basis.

Must Grab

Mike James (RB, TB) - Filled in for the injured Doug Martin.  James is a must grab for all formats and potentially an instant starter based on your RB depth.  He is a absolute must grab.

Jarrett Boykin (WR, GB) - Boykin is the main beneficiary of James Jones and Randall Cobb's injury.  James Jones is expected back soon so Boykin's production level will drop.  He will still start and is worth grabbing.

Jordan Reed (TE, WAS) - as expected Reed came out and got it done.  He is a solid receiving option and is a must add for TE.  He can fill-in for any injured TE or under performing TE.

Kendall Wright (WR, TEN) - Wright is the legit talent at WR for TEN; he is a must grab and only to be used as a spot starter at this point, but now that he is 100 percent healthy he is showing what he is capable of doing.

Grab

Peyton Hillis (RB, NYG) - Brandon Jacobs will not be able to stay healthy enough all season, but also note Hillis has injuries issues as well.  Hillis will more than likely steal carries weekly, but at this point is just a stash.

Jake Locker (QB, TEN) - back from being injured and threw up solid numbers.  If he was dropped then you have a back-up QB.

Darrius Heyward-Bey (WR, IND) - Wayne's injury looks to be bad and Heyward-Bey will be one of the main beneficiaries of the injury.  If you need a replacement then look to Heyward-Bey as a potential replacement.

Lance Dunbar (RB, DAL) - Joseph Randle filled in for the injured DeMarco Murray and he was not too effective.  If DeMarco misses more time expect Dunbar to take over.  The tough part is keeping an eye his health status to see if he will start.

Joseph Randle (RB, DAL) - his ability to start is totally dependent on Murray and Dunbar.  If both Dunbar and Murray are out then Randle is a spot starter for Week 8.

Donald Brown (RB, IND) - He continues to steal carries from Trent Richardson and Brown does make catches so if you are in a PPR league he can fill in for the bye weeks.

Coby Fleener (TE, IND) - Fleener will also benefit from Wayne's injury and should see more overall targets weekly. He is a fine bye week fill in target.

Mike Tolbert (RB, CAR) - Tolbert is stealing more and more carries, but being the goal-line back gives him major upside.  Solid bye-week fill-in.

Kris Durham (WR, DET) - PPR leagues only apply here, but Durham is getting a solid amount of targets and is a bye week filler at best currently.

Watch

Mike Glennon (QB, TB) - two weeks in a row with decent fantasy numbers.  If you are in dire straights at QB then look to Glennon for an emergency start.

Rob Housler (TE, ARZ) - keep an eye on Housler as he has really solid catching ability.  He will be extremely up and down and is not worth adding to your team at this time.

Daniel Thomas (RB, MIA) - not currently startable, but a potential stash if he can take over on workload.  Lamar Miller is more talented so temper your expectations here.

Jeremy Kerley (WR, NYJ) - he will be up and down weekly but has been seeing enough production for a deep league consideration.
