2015 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 8

Bruce Kluckhohn - USA Today Sports
We continue to go through the bye-weeks going into Week 8 and picking up spot-starters, bye-week fillers, and players to put in for under-performers is key this week. Every week counts right now if you are going to make play-offs but you need to make wise choices these weeks.

Must Grab:

Charcandrick West (RB, KC) - he has more than likely already been picked up, but he is now the lead dog in KC and is a must grab RB.

Stefon Diggs (WR, MIN) - he is officially the starter and you can see the talent and upside Diggs has; he is an easy grab to build up any bench.

Gary Barnidge (TE, CLE) - he is a legit TE; his big issue right now is the extent of Josh McCown's injury. He is still a must grab player this week regardless of who is starting at QB for the Browns.

Jordan Reed (TE, WAS) - he is back from his injury and has been a reliable starting TE weekly when healthy.

Darren McFadden (RB, DAL) - honestly believed Christine Michael would have seen more action, but McFadden did a ton this weekend to prove that he should be more of a lead RB. He is a must-grab at this point.

Alfred Blue (RB, HOU) - Arian Foster is done for the season and Blue should become the lead RB in Houston. Chris Polk will back him up and there may be a bit of riding the hot hand, so temper expectations.

Spot-Starters:

Rishard Matthews (WR, MIA) - he keeps ending up on this list weekly and has the talent to be a spot-starter. He has solid upside and is worth picking up to build your bench.

Antonio Andrews and Dexter McCluster (RB, TEN) - Andrews tends to make it on this list weekly, but his upside is fairly capped, but if you are in a super deep league and needing to build your bench then pick-up Andrews.  McCluster is getting more snaps and is better for PPR league players, but both of these RB's have limited upside and only should be counted on right now in dire situations.

Derek Carr (QB, OAK) - had a solid weekend this week, but is going to go up against the Jets next week, so temper your expectations here. He is a nice back-up but you still you have to monitor who he plays against before you start him.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB, NYJ) - he has been a QB that has already helped me through the bye-weeks and injury spot-starts. He is showing talent on an offense that continues to move forward.

Charles Sims (RB, TB) - he is getting carries in Tampa, but Doug Martin keeps Sims value capped. He is a hand-cuff for Doug Martin owners.

Stevie Johnson (WR, SD) - coming back off injury he came in and scored a TD; he may have been dropped by the previous owner so it's time to grab him for the remainder of the bye-weeks.

Jameis Winston (QB, TB) - looked solid against the Washington Redskins this weekend and is starting to connect with Mike Evans. He is coming along as a QB and can be relied upon as a bye-week starter.

Marvin Jones (WR, CIN) - he was on bye this week, but people may have forgotten about him as he has been showing solid bye-week fill-in potential.

Danny Amendola (WR, NE) - PPR league owners only apply here, but I do think his targets will drop over the weeks as Brandon LaFell reestablishes himself. He is still a bye-week fill-in WR for PPR leagues going forward.

Nate Washington (WR, HOU) - he had so much garbage time fantasy points it's hard not to give him a look, but what we did see is that he is the WR2 in Houston and will get continued targets weekly.

Khiry Robinson (RB, NO) - TD league owners only apply here, but he is going to be a weekly gamble. Only suggest using him in dire situations.

Watch:

Ben Watson (TE, NO) - he will continue to catch between four and six catches a week with TD upside from Drew Brees.

Tyler Lockett (WR, SEA) - he is starting to emerge in Seattle and is more of someone to monitor in dynasty leagues, but since his usage is rising he needs to be on your watch list.

Christine Michael (RB, DAL) - I still believe he will eventually emerge and with McFadden's injury history it may come sooner rather than later. Keep a close eye on him.

Stevan Ridley (RB, NYJ) - another player to watch in deep leagues as he should return soon to play and give relief to Chris Ivory. PPR league owners should pay attention to Ridley.

Orleans Darkwa (RB, NYG) - dynasty league owners only here; this is a crazy RBBC in New York and can't advise him in redraft yet, but should be monitored.

Chris Conley (WR, KC) - filled in nicely for Jeremy Maclin, but Maclin will be back soon so only a player to keep on your watch list for now.

Chris Polk (RB, HOU) - here is a player that is very dependent on Alfred Blue's failure to succeed. He should only be picked up in deep leagues, but otherwise keep a close eye on him.

Robert Woods (WR, BUF) - Sammy Watkins will most likely be back after the Bills bye-week, so temper your expectations here, but he is worth monitoring.

Eric Ebron (TE, DET) - he is now back from injury and being targeted by Matthew Stafford. He is going to be an up and down TE so only recommended for deep leagues at this point.
