Hatty's Afternoon Delight

Well Week 9 has come and gone and I have almost finished wiping away the tears after that pathetic performance by my Redskins on Monday Night. Let's get down do business though as Week 10 is upon us and the waiver wires will be a busy place for most sites come midnight tonight so make sure you have your requests in. Some key news to point out today:

Holy Leftwich
As most everyone in America watched the game Byron Leftwich had a monster second half Monday Night filling in for Big Ben. Ben has a sore shoulder, hand, arm and every other major part on his body. With the way Leftwich stepped up it may give Tomlin the confidence to let Big Ben heal a little bit and Leftwich could be a nice bye week filler or sub if you have a tough match up such as Peyton Manning versus the Steelers this week. Keep an eye on this one.

Cleveland Making the switch
Hatty has been touching on this guy in his videos the past few weeks but Brady Quinn is now the started in Cleveland. I am not jumping on any band wagons yet as I don't think Anderson was the whole problem in Cleveland but sometimes a change of pace can bring out a superstar. Quinn could be a great pickup this week and either serve as a bye week filler or be a nice fill in for those who have played the QB carousel this year.

Ryan Torain Time
We talked about him earlier this year in our player spotlight and I realize his first week was rough but if Torain is still out there grab him now. Selvin Young stays hurt and with Pittman and Hall out for the year it is Ryan Torain's chance to come up big and be the Ryan Grant type player of the second half. No one knows if Torain was rushed back but if he can get comfortable the guy will be a RB2 pick in next years draft if you don't get him now.

It's Official
Matt Schaub is out 2-4 weeks, could be longer, so Sage Rosenfells becomes yet another serviceable QB on most leagues waiver wires. I wouldn't bet your playoff spot on Rosenfells doing anything major but if Schaub was your guy Rosenfells could be a nice fill in. I see Steve Slaton's value creeping back up as Houston will no doubt look to lean to the run more and perhaps Andre Johnson's value dipping just a bit.

Orton Hears a Who?
Kyle Orton looks as though his MRI revealed his did not do any ligament damage and that is good news. For those is a tight race for a fantasy playoff spot Orton has just become worthless so get either Quinn, Thigpen or (gulp!) Culpepper off your waiver wires if no one else we recommend is there.

Heath Miller
Miller say out the entire second half, no need for him (sorry still a little bitter) to play, of Monday Nights game with a huge bag of ice on his right leg. Not sure of the reports just yet but if Miller has been your TE then look to snag Kevin Boss or one of Hatty's other Week 10 recommendations this week at TE to fill in.

That is the big news from today thus far. Keep sending in the emails and let us know what you need to win your league. Trade advice, waiver wire pickups, lineup questions, pep talks and other forms of help are available to help you get into your fantasy playoffs.
