2014 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 17

Kirby Lee - USA Today Sports
Everyone should be finishing up their season now and in championships. Work the waiver wire to block your opponent and give you upside where you need it. Don't get too cute, but riding a hot-handed player is not a bad idea.

Double check the waiver wire (just in case):

Charles Clay (TE, MIA) - one of the most reliable TE's on this list and if you are in need of a TE and you are projected to win next week and need a TE, then Clay is the one to pick-up and start on this list.

Jonathan Stewart (RB, CAR) - c'mon, if you haven't picked him up yet then please stash him at the very least so your opponent doesn't get him.

Matt Asiata (RB, MIN) - he is in a good situation right now to be a solid spot-starter with solid TD upside.

Must Grab:

Latavius Murray (RB, OAK) - he just looks incredibly sharp and he is starting to see more passing down work as well. He is a nice flex play or a player with high upside if you are looking to gamble a bit.

Eddie Royal and Malcom Floyd (WR, SD) - they will take Keenan Allen's place in the offense. Eddie Royal will be a PPR monster with TD upside. Royal is the best pick-up and is a nice risk/reward spot-starter.

Joseph Randle (RB, DAL) - I bet DeMarco Murray sits out next week to heal and Randle takes over since Dallas is now in the play-offs.

Spot-Starter:

Devonta Freeman (RB, ATL) - Freeman looked like an solid RB during pass plays and offers some PPR upside. He is still a gamble to start next week, but someone to keep an eye on. Steven Jackson is supposed to be back next week but if he sits out then Freeman will be the main beneficiary.

Teddy Bridgewater (QB, MIN) - he has been looking great over the last few games and putting up usable fantasy numbers. If you are in a two QB league he is worth picking up.

Zach Ertz (TE, PHI) - he had a ton of targets this week but still remains a boom or bust TE from week to week. He is someone to only consider in PPR leagues.

Dan Herron (RB, IND) - he has a nice matchup next week against the Titans if you are looking for a sleeper pick-up.

Marquess Wilson (WR, CHI) - it doesn't matter who is in at QB this kid looks pretty dang solid. I like him in PPR leagues that are deep with his TD upside as well.

Hakeem Nicks (WR, IND) - only consider Nicks if TY Hilton is out again next week; I am certain TY will play next week so temper expectations with Nicks.

Jordan Cameron (TE, CLE) - he looked full speed this week and had a solid 80 yard touchdown. He offers nice upside in case you are dealing with a TE injury.

Danny Amendola (WR, NE) - if Julian Edelman remains on the sideline next week and you are in a PPR league then Amendola offers a nice upside in PPR leagues.

Watch:

C.J. Spiller (RB, BUF) - Spiller is back in the line-up but he is going to be eased in so he is only a stash at this point.

Leon Washington (RB, TEN) - he has the ability to catch footballs out of the backfield so only if you are in a PPR league and there is absolutely nothing left if you want to consider him.

Jimmy Clausen (QB, CHI) - he didn't look bad at all replacing Jay Cutler this weekend. He has a bit of upside and should be considered in two QB leagues.

Luke Willson (TE, SEA) - he had the best game of his career this weekend and will continue to be a target for Russell Wilson but he is boom or bust next week.
