2016 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3

USA Today Sports

Check Again (most likely not on wire but check):

Christine Michael (RB, SEA) - he probably won't be on your waiver wire, but if he happens to be available he is a must grab going forward.

Charles Sims (RB, TB) - if Doug Martin is out for an extended period you have a solid starter in Sims especially in PPR leagues.  If he is on your waiver wire then count yourself lucky.

Tajae Sharpe (WR, TEN) - at this point he should not be on the wire, but if he is then grab him now.

Must Grab:

Corey Coleman (WR, CLE) - if Luke McCown plays through his shoulder injury it is clear that he will target Coleman who is a big play maker.  He is a nice grab even when Josh Gordon comes back.

Sterling Shepard (WR, NYG) - this kid has talent for sure and he will get looks opposite Beckham.  He has solid upside in an offense that likes to throw.

Mike Wallace (WR, BAL) - he is going to be steady every week with TD upside; he is a solid spot-starter.

Jerick McKinnon (RB, MIN) - if you are in a PPR league and need a RB then look to McKinnon as he will be a three down back going forward while AP is out.

Spot-Starter:

Theo Riddick (RB, DET) - if Ameer Abdullah misses any games due to injury then Riddick will be a starting RB in Detroit.  He will be able to fill in any injuries and has PPR upside as well.  If Ameer doesn't miss any time then Riddick's value doesn't shoot up.

Jay Ajayi (RB, MIA) - if Foster misses any time due to injury then Ajayi will be the starting RB for Miami.  Again, this all depends on the health of Foster.

Isaiah Crowell (RB, CLE) - Crowell was fairly hot this weekend and he is getting many reps in at RB.  He is can be a bye-week spot-starter going forward.

Dak Prescott (QB, DAL) - this kid doesn't look too bad for a bye-week filling QB.

Quincy Enunwa (WR, NYJ) - PPR machine going forward as long as he can get healthy.

Matt Ryan (QB, ATL) - hard to believe he is a waiver wire target this year, but I like him going forward as your back-up QB.

Steve Smith Sr (WR, BAL) - a nice fill-in for PPR leagues, but preference goes to Wallace because of TD upside.

Matt Asiata (RB, MIN) - if you are in a TD league then you can look to Asiata for some upside; he will be boom or bust as the Vikings running game hasn't looked too good.

Will Fuller (WR, HOU) - two weeks in a row he has put up usable numbers; he is still only a player to use as a spot-starter, but he is developing nicely.

Chris Hogan (WR, NE) - He is getting looks from Garoppolo and we are not sure how Tom Brady and Hogan will connect.  At this point he said short-term spot-starter.

Jimmy Garoppolo (NE, QB) - He has looked extremely strong so far this season and would be a solid QB for 2 QB leagues until Brady returns.  Keep an eye on his injury status this week if he misses extended time.

Fozzy Whittaker  or Cameron Artis-Payne (RB, CAR) - if Jonathan Stewart misses time then Whittaker or Payne will take over as the starter.  Keep a close eye on the Stewart injury situation and Payne's status.

Travis Benjamin (WR, SD) - with Keenan Allen gone Rivers will need to throw to a new target and Benjamin has been fairly consistent over the years.  He should have some steady output going forward.

Andre Johnson (WR, TEN) - if you are in a TD league only and you want to take a flyer then look to Johnson.

Clive Walford (TE, OAK) - he has TD upside and could be a fill-in if you have an injured TE.

Cole Beasley (WR, DAL) - PPR league owners only on this one as he is getting many targets.

Vance McDonald (TE, SF) - boom-or-bust pick here with TD upside for desperation only at this point.

Tyrell Williams (WR, SD) - he is a big target in an offense that needs him to step up.  He is someone to stash on your bench in the hopes he can grow into his position a bit more.

Anquan Boldin (WR, DET) - We were hoping he would be a TD vulture this year as he is a big target.  He will be boom or bust weekly, but if you are in a TD league needing someone with TD upside you can look at Boldin.

Watch:

Dennis Pitta (TE, BAL) - he is starting to pickup some steam this year.  He is worth monitoring.

Jesse James (TE, PIT) - if you are in a really deep league then look to James.

Jalen Richard (RB, OAK) - has nice upside but is in a RBBC situation, so you have to temper expectations.

Brock Osweiler (QB, HOU) - he is still unpredictable at this point, but he is able to throw touchdowns and work the ball down the field.  He can be used in the bye-weeks.

Danny Amendola (WR, NE) - a true boom or bust pick weekly, but if you are in a TD only league and need to risk it due to injury then you could gamble on Amendola.

Jacob Tamme (TE, ATL) - really the only reception catching TE in Atlanta.  He is only good for PPR leagues, but still not that much upside here.

Dwayne Washington (RB, DET) - keep an eye on this kid of Abdullah misses extended time.  I only suggest him in TD leagues because he does handle some goal-line work.
