Well Sunday was an exciting day to say the least and there are a lot of things to touch on hear in the Monday version of Afternoon Delight. We did see some players we recommended blow up this week so hopefully all of you were listening and were able to capitalize on it. Here we go:
Really LJ?
Police had officially charged Larry Johnson with simple assault for spitting on a woman. No news as to the impact this will have on LJ's status but it looks immanent that a multi-game suspension will come from Roger Goodell. For all those fantasy owners who hung their season on LJ you may need to look for Jamall Charles or Kolby Smith on your waiver wires and snag them just in case.
Don't hurt em Santana!
Santana Moss had a huge game for owners on Sunday but also tweaked his hammy in the process which could limit him in next Monday's huge match up against the Steelers. Vinny Cerato came out to say he was fine only to be followed by Jim Zorn who said it was more serious than they thought. Sounds like someone doesn't want the Steelers to know who to focus on so I would not be too worried but it is something to keep an eye on.
Down and Out in Big D
Some early reports indicate that the Cowboys may be looking at benching backup QB Brad Johnson after his two dismal performances in the just as many weeks. For those Romo owners looking to hang on until his return on the 16th you may wanna snag Brooks Bollinger. Right now it seems Johnson would start but if he struggles don't be surprised to see Bollinger get in the game.
Quarterbacks? Anyone have any Quarterbacks?
For those owners who have been handcuffed by the Romo, Brady, Palmer and other starting QB's who have missed significant time there may be a nice sleeper out there. Shaun Hill replaced JT Osullivan in the 49ers game this past week and looked strong. Hatty recommends him as an add in his video this week along with some other great guys on your waiver wire.
Hard Hitten!
Jason Witten, who despite my hatred for the Cowboys I have a lot of respect for, will be having an MRI on his ribs today. Chances are that Witten will play through unless Doctor's make him sit out but for those who rely on Witten each week go ahead and scoop up Martellus Bennett and stash him on your bench. Bennett is a great pickup for dynasty leagues if you have the space on your roster to stash him. He has the ability to be an amazing TE over the next 5-10 years.
That is all for today's version of Hatty's Afternoon Delight. If you have any specific questions about players who have a question mark around them for Week 9 already let me know via email.
Let's keep the wins coming!
