Here is the weekly installment for the teams who have come close to hitting rock bottom and need to revamp your team. Here is a team you can make out players who you will most likely find on your waiver wires.
QB- Chad Pennington: Pennington is no one's ideal QB but with the the rash of injuries at this position combined with Chad's ability to be solid this year he certainly makes for a good option. Add to that mix the fact that the Dolphins are playing Denver this week who ranks 27th against the pass and 30th against the run means the Dolphins offense should be able to move the football well meaning Pennington is in good shape to have a strong week.
RB- Leon Washington: Washington exploded this past week including a 60 yard touchdown run which will lead to him seeing more opportunities this week. Buffalo is a middle tiered defense and expect Manginni to use multiple options to open up the run game. Washington proved he knows how to find pay dirt and with Thomas Jones always susceptible to injury you could see Washington' value jump this week.
RB- Kolby Smith: With LJ busy beating up all of Kansas City this has put Smith in a prime position to take over and have some good weeks for KC. Of course the Chiefs offensive situation is not ideal but with a younger more energetic Smith you should see a renewed focus on the run in order to take the pressure off Thigpen.
WR- Shaun McDonald: McDonald is likely low on your waiver wire but new QB Orlovsky targeted him quite a few times this past week. McDonald is a good option at WR and with teams surely focusing their best defensive players on Calvin Johnson it will leave McDonald open to make some nice gains.
WR- Nate Washington: With Santonio Holmes being eligible for Week 9 you can be sure Washington was dropped in many leagues. Holmes will surely see some form of time missed once the NFl rules on his case and therefore makes Washington a good option.
TE: Mercedes Lewis: Lewis will not get you major numbers each week but what he has become is a primary red zone target who can make the grab in the end zone. With Cincinnati on the schedule this week he is a strong option at TE.
K- Jason Elam: I have noticed him on a lot of waiver wires and he is one of the best kickers this season and most reliable throughout his career. With Oakland on the schedule this week hosting a good enough defense to cause red zone issues, Elam is a great play this week.
DEF: Atlanta: Atlanta's defense is not great but Oakland's offense is much worse. If you need a replacement due to bye week Atlanta is worth giving a look this week.
